Last summer, I told a dear friend of mine that I wanted to start a blog. Again. This time, I wanted a great name. Something snazzy and peppy — like me. I knew that this dear friend of mine was the person to consult, and he didn’t disappoint.
Yes, “BhanVoyage” is a spin on my given name. But it’s more than that. It is a reminder that our lives are a journey. While there are some great destinations along the way, arriving isn’t the goal. It’s the process of getting there. Staying afloat, bailing buckets of water as I go, is what this blog is about.
It isn’t always easy or graceful. My suede stilettos get wet and my mascara is often running from the ocean spray. I say prayers of thanks for smooth waters and prayers for protection in storms. I look to the lighthouses the Creator has placed along the shore as my guides. And I cling to my traveling companions, whether they be for a day, a month, or a lifetime. And when it all shakes out in the end, I’m sure that I’ll be able to say “it’s been a very good journey.”
